Since choosing a convenient windy location is the most important factor influencing the economic logic of wind power plants, the wind power plant project was defined and mapped in 2014 at Sana company. In this study, four main sites were chosen and prioritized on the basis of investment-cost ratio. Also, with conducted follow-ups, a construction analysis for the wind power plant project was approved by the main shareholder of the company. Furthermore, Sana company managed to obtain a preliminary agreement for the construction of 100 MW wind farm from Renewable Energy Organization of Iran (Suna) in early 2015. At the moment, the company is pursuing and keeping track of technical-economic studies, network connectivity, environmental issues and land acquisition for guaranteed electricity sales contract in four selected regions. Also, several negotiations have been conducted with some foreign companies and initial memorandums of understanding have been signed with some others. Joint venture contract and project financing are on the company’s agenda.
